New Mahindra Scorpio Z101 Inches Closer To Launch In India, Know What To Expect From The Upgrade

The new Scorpio will be more spacious and will feature a new-look grille as well as upgraded tech with a bigger touchscreen, more features, and an instrument cluster.

New Delhi: Mahindra has been giving us one big launch every year and it started with the Thar then we saw the XUV700 while it is now getting ready to launch the new Scorpio or its codename, Z101. The carmaker has been providing teasers but the latest one shows a few glimpses at what to expect from this new SUV. This is the new generation Scorpio and it is an all-new SUV being based on a new platform plus new engines along with also a new exterior/interior. The new Scorpio gets a new look grille along with the new Mahindra logo while the styling is a bigger jump from the current Scorpio but still retains a few basics like the upright stance - which is similar to the current one.

The new Scorpio gets new DRLs while vertically placed tail-lamps are also there. It is also bigger than the current Scorpio with more space. The Z101 has been in development for some time and Mahindra is leaving no stone unturned in terms of the technology plus the interior while keeping the traditional Mahindra strengths intact.

The engines would be shared with the Thar and XUV700 with a starting variant expecting to have a power output similar to the Thar's 2.2l diesel while top-end variants would have more power. There would be a 2.0l turbo petrol too like on the XUV700 and the Thar.

Both automatic and manual gearbox options would be there along with 4x2/4x4 being on offer. The new Scorpio will have more tech with a bigger touchscreen, more features, and an instrument cluster. The launch of the new Scorpio is due to be announced soon along with more details. Watch this space for more.
