New 2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift First Look Review
The new Baleno is not a small facelift but a big change towards a new look with a restyled front-end design along with a new rear too
New Delhi: Maruti is all set with its Baleno facelift due for launch on the 23rd of this month but images of this car are already out which reveals all changes. In this article we tell you what all has changed and some of the top new features that the Baleno facelift has.
Exteriors
The new Baleno is not a small facelift but a big change towards a new look with a restyled front-end design along with a new rear too. The bonnet looks new along with bigger headlamps with a new LED DRL light signature. The grille is bigger than the current Baleno with a silver strip base at the lower part.
Maruti has also changed the fog lamp that surrounds to the front bumper with a new look. There are new 16inch diamond cut alloys which again looks better than the old Baleno. The side gets plenty of chrome with a thick chrome line while there are wider new tail-lamps with a C-shape along with a new rear bumper. In short the new Baleno looks more aggressive now.
Interiors
The interiors are all new and are completely changed. As reported earlier by us, there is a new bigger touchscreen with a new infotainment system. The dashboard gets a premium look with blue finishing along with a silver layer in between a black coloured dashboard. Quality looks to be taking a jump also.
You do not get a full digital instrument cluster though but the dials are redesigned now. The touchscreen is all new at 9inch while having a new look multi tile menu system like premium touchscreen infotainment systems. The new i20 for example has the same type. There is a new steering wheel deisgn too like on the Swift. Space stays the same.
Features
The old Baleno was lacking in features which now has been updated with a new bigger touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, a Heads up display, wireless charging, a 360 degree view camera, climate control, rear sensors, rear ac vents, power folding mirror, 6 airbags etc. There is no sunroof though.
Engine options
The Baleno will get a single 1.2l petrol engine option with an engine start/stop feature which saves fuel. The car is expected to be the most efficient car in its class also like the current one though it might not have a SHVS system. Standard is a 5-speed manual while it gets an AMT automatic now also. Unlike the current Baleno, there is no CVT automatic.
Verdict
The current Baleno is priced between Rs 6- 9.6 lakh but we expect a price hike of about Rs 50,000 for the top-end trims due to the extra features. While the new Baleno is also heavier now. With these new features, the Baleno seems to be a much more complete package.
