MG Windsor Vs Tata Punch EV Specs Comparison

Both EVs sport aero efficient wheels, light bar and more while the Windsor is more of a crossover with its cab forward stance while the Punch EV is a mini SUV

The new Windsor EV comes with an interesting price proposition as MG Motor is not asking the price of the battery with the car as instead the battery has a separate rental plan where you pay Rs 3.5 per km. The car itself starts from Rs 9.99 lakh but looking at an average usage of 3 years, the Windsor is around Rs 12 lakh. Do note that there is also a buyback plan from MG after 3 years, 45,000 km which promises 60 percent buyback. So, how does it compare with the Punch EV as the Windsor is roughly within the same price bracket?

Which is bigger?

The Windsor has a length of 4295mm and a width of 2126mm. In comparison, the Tata Punch EV has a length of 3857mm and a width of 1742mm. Both EVs sport aero efficient wheels, light bar and more while the Windsor is more of a crossover with its cab forward stance while the Punch EV is a mini SUV. In terms of wheelbase, the Punch EV comes in at 2445mm while the Windsor is at 2700mm.

Which car has more features?

Both cars get a lot of tech while the Windsor has ventilated seats with a powered driver seat, a massive 15.6 inch touchscreen, digital driver display, 360 degree camera, 9-speaker audio system, fixed glass panoramic roof, 135 degree recline rear seats etc. The Punch EV on the other hand also gets features like ventilated seats, a 360 degree camera, standard sunroof, air purifier, 10.25-inch screen and more.

Which car has more range?

The Windsor has one battery pack option with being a 38kWh LFP battery with prismatic cells while the claimed range is 330km per charge. Power on offer is 136hp and 200Nm of torque from a single front motor. The Punch EV comes with two battery packs, a 25kWh battery with 315km range and a 35kWh battery with 421km of range. Power on offer is 122hp and 190Nm for the LR motor.

Which car is more value for money?

The Punch EV is cheaper now for a short period with a price hovering between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.7 lakh while the MG Windsor is Rs 9.99 lakh starting or roughly Rs 12 lakh with battery cost. The Punch EV offers more ground clearance and range while the Windsor has more space, features and the bigger interior plus the buyback scheme.
