MG Windsor India First Look Review: A First Look At Its Feature-Packed And Spacious Design
MG Windsor EV: Priced at Rs 9.99 lakh starting, the EV is aggressively priced and MG is also doing not one but two EMIs, including one for the car and one for the battery pack at 3.5 rs per km
Here is the first new product from MG after their partnership with JSW. It is full electric and is a crossover of sorts while slotting below the ZS. The Windsor seems to blur many body styles in being an SUV or an MPV but a crossover is the best way to describe it. Priced at Rs 9.99 lakh starting, the Windsor is very aggressively priced and MG is also doing not one but two EMIs, including one for the car and one for the battery pack at 3.5 rs per km. The Rs 9.99 lakh price is without the battery pack.
There is also a buy back scheme plus the battery has a lifetime warranty. This electric crossover has a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Called Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV), the Windsor has an ‘AeroGlide Design’ which means it is governed by aerodynamics to get the maximum range. In our eyes, it is a clean design with flush door handles, a light bar and 18-inch diamond cut alloys. It is a mix of different cars but the Windsor is compact from the outside. Inside, it is incredibly roomy with the wheelbase plus the electric architecture coming into play.
The 'Aero-Lounge' seats with a 135 degree recline offer a lot of space plus comfort which is its highlight plus it has a huge fixed glass roof as well which cannot be opened. It is a five-seater only but the rear seat is perhaps built for those who are chauffeur driven with three individual headrests, leatherette seats with quilted stitching.
The fit and finish is very good too while upfront the Windsor has less physical controls and mostly it is the huge 15.6-inch touchscreen which controls everything. The layered dashboard and the running vents adds to the premium feel while the instrument cluster is similar to a Comet. There are some physical control buttons below.
Other features include a 360 degree camera, electric tailgate open, connected car tech with in-built apps, ADAS, digital key, 9 speaker audio system, powered driver seat and more. The Windsor has 38 kWh battery pack option with a 330km claimed range. Power is 136ps. Overall, the Windsor at first impressions is an EV focussed on space and comfort, which at this price means it has no rivals in that aspect.
