Maruti Suzuki XL6 And Baleno CNG Launched — Check Features, Specifications & Prices

These factory-fitted CNG cars are a lot safer and better to use over aftermarket ones hence the Baleno and the XL6 CNG could be popular options.

Maruti along with adding hybrid/mil-hybrid models is also increasing its CNG range while now making its way across to its premium Nexa range. These factory-fitted CNG cars are a lot safer and better to use over aftermarket ones hence the Baleno and the XL6 CNG could be popular options.

Both the S-CNG cars have dual inter-dependent Electronic Control Units (ECU) and an Intelligent Injection System and there is a Microswitch which makes sure that the vehicle does not start during the CNG fuel-filling process.

The Baleno CNG has a mileage of 30.61 km/kg while it is the only premium CNG hatchback in India with 6 airbags as well. In terms of power, in CNG mode, it is reduced to 98.5 Nm and 77.4 PS. It comes with features like connected car tech, LED projector headlamps, MID display with CNG-specific screens and more. It will be available with two trims- Delta and Zeta.

The XL6 CNG also has a fuel efficiency of 26.32 km/kg while coming with all features present on the top-end trim like Suzuki Connect, touchscreen and more. The XL6 CNG develops 121.5 Nm in CNG mode along with 87PS too in CNG mode.

Compared to the petrol versions, the CNG ones are around Rs 95,000 more with the Baleno coming in Delta and Zeta trims with a manual gearbox while the XL6 CNG comes in Zeta trim only also with a manual gearbox.

The Baleno CNG has no competition since no other premium hatchback comes with a factory-fitted CNG option and that is an advantage though lack of CNG pumps and long waiting times is the only issue here. However, a factory-fitted CNG car is more practical over a petrol for running costs for sure while the XL6 would also appeal as an efficient family MPV of sorts.
