Not just the looks as the interiors plus the features on offer also get a serious upgrade. In this article we take a look at how the XUV 3XO has changed from its predecessor
Mahindra has just launched its XUV 3XO and it is indeed a radical overhaul from the XUV300 while still being considered as an extensive facelift. Not just the looks as the interiors plus the features on offer also get a serious upgrade. In this article we take a look at how the XUV 3XO has changed from its predecessor.
Styling and dimensions
The dimensions of the XUV 3XO are 3990mm in length, 1821mm in width and 1647mm while the XUV300 measures 3995 mm in length, 1821 mm in width and 1627 mm in height. Hence, due to the new bumper design the XUV 3XO is slightly shorter while it maintains its height. The wheelbase also stands the same at 2600mm. Styling though is all new and the XUV 3XO looks much more aggressive now with an angular new headlamp design plus a new bumper along with a gloss black grille. There are new 17-inch alloys too while the rear styling has a new connected light bar along with a tweaked design with the number plate position being placed downward.
Interior and features
A bigger change is on the inside as the earlier XUV300 lacked features as compared to its competition. The interior ambiance is also much improved with leatherette soft touch inserts plus a white upholstery. Then there is a new 10.25-inch touchscreen and a new digital instrument cluster. The latest infotainment system is also there in the XUV 3XO with connected car technology and more. Then there is a new 360 degree camera plus a powered handbrake along with a new gear lever. The XUV 3XO also gets dual zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS and a 7 speaker audio system. Space remains the same but Mahindra has improved the boot space here in the XUV 3XO.
Engines
While it continues with three engines as before including a more powerful 130hp 1.2l turbo petrol engine, there is a 6-speed torque converter automatic now being offered and that is a big change. There are drive modes and steering modes too. A diesel remains just like on the earlier XUV300.
Prices
The XUV 3XO is actually more affordable than the XUV300 with prices starting at Rs 7.4 lakh as compared to Rs 7.99 lakh of the XUV300. The top-end trim is upwards of Rs 15 lakh for the XUV 3XO. Overall, the XUV 3XO is a vast improvement in all of the crucial areas and wipes out the weaknesses of the XUV300.
