Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4: Pricing And Features. Is It Worth The Upgrade From 4x2?

Mahindra has revealed the prices of its Thar Roxx 4x4 variant which starts at Rs 18.79 lakh for the MT MX5 variant. The AX7L manual meanwhile is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh. The automatic 4x4 meanwhile comes with the AX5L starting which is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh while the topend automatic diesel 4x4 is priced at Rs 22.4 lakh.
The Thar Roxx 4x4 only comes with diesel unlike the Thar 3 door while the power outputs vary from the manual 4x4 having a power output of 111.9 kw of power and 330Nm while the automatic 4x4 diesel has a power of 128.6 kw of power and 370 Nm. Deliveries of this variant and others will start from October 3. On offer is also the CrawlSmart Assist with IntelliTurn along with a 650 mm water wading depth. There are drive modes on offer too like the 4x2 version.
There are also terrain modes with the 4x4 with Snow Sand and Mud. The Thar Roxx comes with a 6- speed manual gearbox with the diesel 4x4 and a 6 speed automatic gearbox which is a torque converter unit. There is no petrol 4x4 for now on offer with the Thar Roxx. Compared to the 3- door the Thar 5-door Roxx is based on a new platform which means better ride and handling along with more comfort.
The Thar Roxx also gets more features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ADAS, a 9 speaker audio system and a cooled glove box plus more. Compared to the 4x2, the 4x4 is Rs 2 lakh more expensive and is for those who do offroading or frequent road trips under challenging conditions.
