Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV Expected India Launch Date — Check Details
Mahindra's XUV400 will be its first electric SUV to hit the market. It is expected to launch in 2025. Check the details below.
Mahindra XUV400 is the first electric SUV but that is just the start as the carmaker is readying a whole line-up of new EVs. All of them were shown in concept form in 2022 and now we have started seeing test cars. Hence, a closer-to-production version of the BE.05 was recently seen and we have also been given a glimpse of the interior. Other than the XUV-branded EVs with the copper twin peaks logo, there will be the BE brand of EVs too.
The first of the BE branded cars is the BE.05 and that was seen recently. The test car spied also shows that Mahindra will largely keep the design DNA intact with the same edgy design as seen on the concept although there will be some revisions. The front-end design and some of the lines would be cleaned up and readied for production while it will get conventional mirrors of course in place of digital ones. However, there will be flush door handles too. The interior will also keep the driver-focussed look with a large connected screen set-up while the interior would be clutter-free as well along with a large gear selector.
There would be BE branding on the steering wheel instead of the usual Mahindra one. Like all of the other new EVs, the platform is a modular INGLO platform, using VW MEB platform components. Other technology updates include an augmented reality heads-up display, 5G network capability and Over-The-Air updates.
The four-door coupe will measure 4,370mm in length and 1,900mm in width while the sloping coupe-like roofline will give it a lot of presence. Exact battery pack sizes would be revealed closer to its launch but as revealed earlier, expect it to be between 60-80kwh battery while rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive would be offered with numerous power options. 0-100 km/h is promised in just 5 seconds. Other additions would be very fast charging, L2+ autonomy, frunk and trunk storage and Vehicle To Load (V2L) functionality. Expect this to be launched in 2025 and it will be one of the first of the BE-branded EVs to hit the Indian roads after the XUV ones.
