New Kia Seltos First Look At LA Auto Show With 195hp Petrol Engine

New Kia Seltos first look has been revealed at the LA Auto Show. It has 195hp Petrol Engine and is the US spec car, India spec new Seltos will be different but we can still see a preview of the beast.

While we are yet to get the new Seltos, the US Market has received the car and at the ongoing LA Auto show, we had a chance to have a close look at the new Seltos to understand what all has changed. This is obviously the US spec car and the India spec new Seltos when it comes eventually will be different but it does preview what all we can expect.

The new Seltos is indeed more aggressive looking with a bigger grille, new bumper and larger 18-inch alloys. The X-Line trims add a gunmetal finish to the grille and different alloys.

The new Seltos is perhaps best differentiated from the rear with the full-length light bar which connects the LED tail-lights. Inside, there are digital screens in the form of a 10.25-inch driver display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the middle being revamped.

As we have reported earlier, the design of the switchgear is new and there are plusher materials. New features like Adaptive cruise control and a powered lift-gate are now offered.

Of interest are the engine options namely a power 195hp 1.6 litre turbo petrol and a 2.0l petrol unit. The turbo-petrol Seltos in the US is now near 200hp and is 20hp more powerful than before along with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.

In India, we expect the new Seltos to continue with its existing engine options including a 1.4 litre turbo petrol with a DCT gearbox or a 1.5 litre petrol with a CVT or an iMT gearbox. There would also be a 1.5l diesel. The facelifted Seltos will most likely have design changes and in the interior but the engines will remain the same. In India we expect the new Seltos to come in next year and the updated model will be an important launch considering it is presently the best selling Kia.
