First Look: Sharper Looking New Kia EV6 With More Range

Inside, there are bigger updates with a new steering wheel along with the new logo placement as also seen on the Syros subcompact SUV

Kia has launched the new facelifted EV6 in India at a starting price of Rs 65.9 lakh. The new EV6 is an updated version of this premium electric SUV and the styling at the front is all new and is even more sharper thanks to the new front bumper as well as the new headlamps. The previous headlamp setup has been changed to a different split set-up with the headlamp angled in. There are new alloy wheels too while from the side or the rear things pretty much stay the same in terms of the basic shape as well. Majorly, it is about the new look front-end of the EV6.

Space seems to be the same. The new EV6 also has a larger battery pack which is always welcome as that means more range! The new EV6 has a 84kWh battery pack with a 663km range which is claimed and that is an improvement. In terms of the power on offer, the new EV6 has dual motors with 325PS and 605Nm.  The EV6 will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo C40 Recharge and more.

The new EV6 comes in five color options, Snow-White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Wolf Grey, Runway Red and Yacht Blue Matte. The battery is larger but the dimensions are the same and that is interesting in the way the car has been packaged. While the way the car looks has not been tempered with too much save for the new look front, the cabin brings more tech and the car has mild improvements throughout while the range is impressive given the segment that it operates in.

However, the car has high competition from other German luxury car makers plus EV specialists like BYD. The EV6 though is about range and space plus the tech, where it scores.
