EVs Get More Affordable, Citroen Launches eC3 In India

The eC3 will rival the Tata Tiago EV, which is the other electric hatchback, although the C3 is from a different segment in terms of size. 

Citroen has revealed the prices of its eC3 in India, which is the electric version. The development comes just six months after Citroen launched the model's petrol version. Citroen has quickly followed up the introduction of the EV eC3 and it starts at a price of Rs 11.5 lakh. 

The Live version is priced at Rs 11.5 lakh while the Feel version is Rs 12.13 lakh. The Feel with the Vibe pack is Rs 12.28 lakh while the Feel Dual Tone Vibe pack comes in at Rs 12.43 lakh ex-showroom. 

The eC3 would be available at La Maison Citroën phygital showrooms in 25 cities, namely, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Nagpur, Vizag, Calicut, Guwahati, Bhopal, Karnal, Dehradun, Rajkot, Mangalore and Coimbatore. All showrooms will be equipped with DC Fast Charging facility provided by Jio-bp.

The eC3 comes with a 29.2 kWh battery pack along with an electric motor which generates 57bhp and 143Nm of torque. The range figure for a full charge is 320 Km. The battery comes with a 7 year/140k km warranty while the motor has a 5 year/100k warranty along with the car having a 3 year/125k km warranty.

The car has a 100% DC Fast Charge capability and a 15 AMP Home Charging option. The eC3 will also promise customisation with 13 exterior colour combinations along with 3 packs with 47 customisation options.

In terms of competition, the eC3 will rival the Tata Tiago EV, which is the other electric hatchback, although the C3 is from a different segment in terms of size. 

The C3 is the second product for Citroen after the C5 while the electric version comes in quicker with Citroen hoping for big volumes with this car.
