In the luxury SUV segment the Defender is a hugely popular product while now it gets a high performance variant called Octa. Named after the hardest mineral, the diamond, the Defender Octa is priced at Rs 2.5 crore. It is a Defender that has a lot more performance but also more for hardcore off-road use. The styling is also updated along with the suspension plus more.

Defender Octa: Engine And Performance
Available with the Defender 110 configuration, the Octa features a massive 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 which is also a mild hybrid with 635ps and 800Nm. This means performance is fast with a 0-100 km/h time of 4 seconds plus there is a revised chassis along with a more off-road focussed suspension.

There are clear styling changes and the Defender Octa looks tough with its raised stance, wider wheelarches and a new diamond graphic.

Defender Octa: Dedicated Mode For Off-Road Driving
There are special all terrain tyres and big wheels while there is more underbody protection too along with greater water wading capabilities. Overall, the Defender Octa sits 28mm higher, is wider by 68mm and uprated brakes too.

There is also a dedicated Octa mode for more off-road driving. Inside, there is a lighter upholstery and performance seats too while more features are added. This then is a Defender taken to the extremes and it will compete with the likes of the other performance offroaders like the Mercedes-AMG G63 and others.
