Citroen revealed its new C3 Aircross SUV yesterday but along with that this new product will lead the next growth phase for this French brand. The C3 Aircross is a compact SUV but promises 5+2 seating. Being based on the C3 platform, there are obvious similarities between this and the C3 hatchback. Here we tell you what all is different and what remains.

Styling

The C3 Aircross is the SUV version and is based on the C3 platform. Size wise the C3 Aircross is a lot larger than the C3 hatchback with a length of 4.3m while the C3 is below 4m. Styling wise there are similarities with the C3 headlamp design including halogen lamps along with the same upper grille. But the C3 Aircross gets a skid plate and a different lower grille. The side view is boxy and shows the long roofline while the rear gets similar design tail-lamps like the C3 but bigger in size. The C3 Aircross also gets larger 17 inch wheels and gets dualtone shades as well.

Interiors

The C3 Aircross gets a more premium lighter dualtone shade upholstery on the inside while the C3 hatchback is all black only. The C3 Aircross gets the dashboard also trimmed in lighter shade while the C3 gets more orange inserts. While the same 10inch touchscreen is shared between the two, the C3 Aircross gets a new digital instrument cluster too. The C3 Aircross also gets manual AC like the C3 while connected car tech is also there. Surprisingly the C3 Aircross also misses out on features like a sunroof, wireless charging and more which the C3 also misses out on. That said the C3 Aircross gets roof mounted vents and 5+2 seating along with a much longer wheelbase over the C3 hatchback.

Engine

The C3 Aircross will come with a turbo petrol and that is a 110bhp 1.2l turbo unit while the C3 hatchback comes with a naturally aspirated 1.2l petrol and a turbo unit too. Prices

The C3 hatchback is priced from Rs 6-8 lakh while the C3 Aircross would be priced from under Rs 10 lakh. The C3 Aircross is a compact SUV with more space and a premium exterior while the interior too gets a different look. That said, there are not many feature differences between the two cars while the C3 Aircross is for those who want the practicality at a budget.
