Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe To Rival Tata Curvv

The Basalt SUV Coupe would be based on the C3 Aircross but placed above the C3 Aircross with a sportier look

Citroen has shown a teaser for its upcoming SUV coupe and it is called as Basalt. To be revealed on the 27th, Basalt is an SUV coupe which is the latest new design trend and which will soon see new launches from this genre too.

The Basalt SUV Coupe would be based on the C3 Aircross but placed above the C3 Aircross with a sportier look. It is an SUV coupe which means it will have the high ground clearance associated with an SUV but with a coupe like design.

The car will share the platform with the C3 Aircross but will have different distinguishing elements. We do expect the Basalt to have a ground clearance similar to the C3 Aircross plus have cladding along with 17 inch alloy wheels. One big factor would be the interiors where Citroen will incorporate feedback regarding the C3 Aircross and will bring in more features from the start in the Basalt.

Hence, expect features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, LED headlamps, push button start/stop and more. So, some of the cost cutting will not be seen on the Basalt and that is crucial for the car to succeed here in India.

The powertrain would be the same though with a 1.2l turbo petrol which is also there on the C3 Aircross and it would get both manual plus automatic options right at the start too. The Basalt would be positioned above the C3 Aircross and would also be coming in an EV avatar but layer.

More details regarding this SUV coupe would be revealed soon along with images of the interior. The Basalt from Citroen will compete with the likes of the Tata Curvv and more.
