2021 Volvo S90, XC60 Plug-In Hybrid Launched In India, Check Features

In terms of features, there is a new Google infotainment system with in-built Google services plus a new more advanced air cleaner and a new Blind Spot information system.

New Delhi: Volvo cars have updated its popular XC60 SUV and the S90 sedan for 2021. Both the cars get some substantial updates in form of exterior changes and new interior features while the biggest change would be regarding its new petrol hybrid powertrain.
 
Till now the XC60 and S90 have been available with diesel engines but Volvo is now concentrating on petrol, plug-in hybrid and of course electric cars. Do remember the XC40 Recharge that they had unveiled in India which would be its first electric car. However, now we have the updated S90 and XC60. The styling has some subtle tweaks in form of a new front grille, bumper and altered front bumper. There is also more chrome trim now being added.

In terms of features, there is a new Google infotainment system with in-built Google services plus a new more advanced air cleaner, a new dedicated Volvo cars app and a new Blind Spot information system.
 
The air cleaner has a PM 2.5 particle sensor and the driver can also monitor interior air quality via the centre screen.
 
The Advanced Air Cleaner can clean the cabin air of almost all tiny particles within a few minutes. The S90 has a 19 speaker 1,400W Bowers and Wilkins audio system, a 360-degree camera, front massage seats and standard air suspension.

The XC60 also gets adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front massage seats, Nappa leather and a 15 speaker audio system plus more.
 
Finally, the biggest update is in the form of its new hybrid petrol powertrain. Hence in place of the earlier diesel unit, there is now a 2.0l turbo-petrol unit with 250hp and 350Nm. However, there is also a new 48V integrated starter-generator motor which helps boost performance and efficiency. Both these cars are priced at Rs 61.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Volvo will also launch its next product called the XC40 Recharge by next year being an electric car.
