Sansani: Know what turned Mumbai bandh by Maratha groups VIOLENT
The Maratha stand-off over their demand for quota reservation took a violent turn on Tuesday evening as several aggressive demonstrations took place t various areas; prompting the authorities to call for a shut down in Maharashtra and the nearby areas.
The shutdown will be seen in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Satara, Palghar and Nashik.
The effect of Bandh shall not be seen on Mumbai local train services, schools and colleges.
The Marathas have been protesting over the demand of 16% reservation in government jobs and educational institutions, the matter which is subjudice.
Maratha Kranti Morcha, which is spearheading the agitation, is taking its battle to Mumbai where it has called for the shutdown. Another outfit, the Sakal Maratha Samaj are also actively participating in the protest.
