Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore reaches polling booth to caste his vote
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore who took voluntary retirement from the Indian Army in 2013 to join politics, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the second time. The party has retained him on the Jaipur rural Parliamentary constituency where the Congress has fielded Olympian and discus thrower Krishna Poonia against him.
Voting began Monday for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha election in 51 constituencies spread across seven states with many political bigwigs, including Rajnath Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani, being in the fray.
About 8.75 crore people will decide the fate of 674 candidates in the fifth of the seven-phase elections.
