Rajasthan Assembly Elections: First list of candidates released

The Bharatiya Janta Party on Sunday released its first list of 131 out of 200 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje is set to contest the election from her Jhalrapatan seat. The names were released by senior party leader JP Nadda after a meeting with BJP central election committee. Senior party leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah and Raje were present in the meeting.

The party has also given a Vidhan Sabha ticket to its Lok Sabha MP Sona Ram Chaudhury and has given tickets to 12 women.

As per Nadda, the party has disseminated tickets to 25 new faces. As per BJP sources, 85 present MLAs have been given space in first phase.
