Yamuna Floods Submerge Delhi’s ISBT Police Station, Traffic And Local Areas Hit

The rising water level of the Yamuna has begun to impact not just roads and markets, but even police stations in the capital. At Kashmere Gate near ISBT, the police post is now partially submerged, with floodwaters reaching knee level. Visuals from the site show water entering the station premises, with only one step left uncovered while the rest of the staircase is already underwater.Barricades around the ISBT area can be seen submerged, and several vehicles are almost drowned, highlighting the extent of the situation. Reporters on the ground confirm that floodwaters are steadily moving inside the police station, posing operational challenges for Delhi Police. This crisis is not limited to the station alone. Residential neighborhoods close to the Yamuna are also suffering from heavy waterlogging, with roads submerged and traffic severely disrupted. The situation is expected to worsen if more water is released from the Hathnikund Barrage.Authorities have deployed pumps in an attempt to control waterlogging, but the relentless rise of Yamuna’s water level continues to threaten critical infrastructure. With the river flowing in spate, residents and officials alike are bracing for further challenges in the coming days.
