Weather: Monsoon Turns Active, Bringing Heavy Rainfall to Mumbai

Mumbai has finally received relief from intense heat and humidity as the monsoon has become active and rainfall continues across the city and surrounding areas. After a prolonged wait and scorching summer conditions, showers that began yesterday have persisted intermittently today as well. According to weather officials, the monsoon had reached South Konkan earlier this month but remained stalled near Solapur for several days before regaining strength. With the monsoon now active, Mumbai is witnessing steady rainfall, bringing down temperatures and providing comfort to residents. However, heavy rain often creates challenges for the city, including waterlogging, flooded underpasses and traffic disruptions. While commuters may face difficulties if rainfall intensifies, the immediate focus remains on the much-needed respite from the sweltering weather. The changing weather pattern marks a significant shift in conditions across Maharashtra.
