Uttarakhand Rains: Rivers Overflow In Rudraprayag, Temporary Bridge Washed Away | ABP News
A major bridge over the Son and Mandakini rivers in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag has been washed away due to recent heavy rains. The incident occurred when the river’s water level rose excessively, causing the bridge's structure to fail. The collapse has severely affected traffic and supply lines, isolating several villages and towns and causing immense hardship to residents. In response, the Indian Army has provided immediate relief, constructing two temporary bridges to facilitate movement. These bridges enable the evacuation of flood-affected residents and the delivery of relief materials. However, this temporary arrangement is insufficient, and a long-term solution is required to fully restore the area's connectivity and normalcy.
