Ujjain: Niranjani Akhada Mahamandaleshwar, BJP Leader Accused Of Fraud

Ujjain police filed a fraud case against BJP leader Ashok Prajapati, Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swarupanand, and two others following a court order.

MP Latest News: Ujjain's Mahakal police station in Madhya Pradesh has filed a case against four people, including a Mahamandaleshwar and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on charges of fraud, breach of trust, and other serious offences. No arrests have been made yet.

Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said that following a complaint by Sohail Patel, a resident of Indore, a case has been registered against Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swarupanand Maharaj, BJP leader Ashok Prajapat, Mahavir Prasad (resident of Maksi), and Omprakash Agrawal (resident of Char Dham Temple) for fraud and breach of trust.

He said that the Mahakal police station started an investigation after a court order. No arrests have been made yet.

What Are The Allegations?

According to the complainant, Parmanand Maharaj was the lifelong president of the trust as per the bylaws of the Akhand Ashram Trust in Ujjain. Despite this, Shanti Swarupanand Maharaj appointed himself as president and signed a contract for a dharamshala at ₹3,00,000 per month. This constituted a breach of trust and caused losses amounting to crores of rupees.

Ashok Prajapat, BJP leader and former chairman of the Mati Kala Board, has also been named as an accused in this case. Prajapat previously served as a Minister of State. In addition, Omprakash Agrawal of the Char Dham Temple and Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swarupanand Maharaj of the Niranjani Akhara are also accused in this case.
