SYSTEM IN MOTION: NEET Re-Exam Begins Smoothly as Tight Security Covers Centres Nationwide

The NEET re-examination across India is progressing under strict security arrangements, with authorities maintaining heightened vigilance following earlier concerns of paper leaks. From Lucknow to Delhi, Mumbai, Patna, Jammu and Pune, examination centres are witnessing steady entry of candidates under tightly controlled conditions. In Lucknow, entry procedures began at 11:00 AM, with candidates undergoing detailed verification before entering centres. Security forces, including over 1,000 police personnel across approximately 75 centres, have been deployed to ensure smooth conduct. Strict screening protocols are in place, with multiple checks for electronic devices, biometric authentication, and thorough document verification. CCTV surveillance and female police personnel have also been stationed at key points to maintain order. In Mohali, students and parents expressed mixed emotions as the re-exam has added psychological pressure after the earlier cancellation due to alleged irregularities. Many parents reported concerns about repeated disruptions affecting students’ preparation and mental well-being. In Delhi, reporting from multiple centres indicates that the process is largely smooth, with biometric verification and multi-layered frisking ensuring controlled entry. Officials have implemented strict guidelines on prohibited items, while parents continue to wait outside designated cooling zones provided by authorities. Across Bihar, Patna centres reported disciplined entry with reduced crowd pressure due to staggered reporting. Meanwhile, in Jammu, security has been intensified further with restricted movement zones around centres, suspension of gatherings, and deployment of central and local forces to ensure uninterrupted examination conduct. Reports from Pune also confirm heavy police deployment around centres, with complete perimeter security established to avoid any disturbance. As the examination unfolds nationwide, the focus remains on maintaining fairness, preventing irregularities, and restoring confidence in one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations.
