Sensex plunges around 1000 points
Indian shares were in freefall in Wednesday’s session as traders spooked by rising coronavirus cases. Sensex slumps by 1311.87 points, currently at 29,267.22. Domestic equity market benchmarks Sensex and Nifty pared all opening gains to trade nearly 3 percent lower on Wednesday.
