After completing a three-day visit to France, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the United States on Wednesday, February 12. His visit marks the first meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump since Trump assumed office. Upon reaching Washington, PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Just arrived in Washington, D.C. I will meet with President Donald Trump and work towards advancing the India-U.S. global strategic partnership. Looking forward to it."The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that this visit is a crucial step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and the United States. PM Modi is also scheduled to meet with key members of the U.S. Cabinet and influential business leaders to discuss areas of collaboration.When PM Modi meets President Trump, he will become the third world leader to engage with the newly inaugurated U.S. President, demonstrating the importance of the India-U.S. relationship.
