In the latest edition of his monthly radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s recent achievements across science, sports, culture, and social development. He began by lauding Subhanshu Shukla's safe return from space, a feat that has inspired young minds across the country to dream of becoming astronauts and space scientists. The Prime Minister spotlighted the "Inspire Manak" initiative, encouraging innovation among school children, and noted the rapid growth of India’s space startup ecosystem — expanding from under 50 startups five years ago to over 200 today. Modi also praised Indian students for their exceptional performances at international Olympiads in chemistry and mathematics. He emphasized the upcoming Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad in Mumbai, which will host students from over 60 countries. The episode paid tribute to India’s rich history and sacrifice, recalling the bravery of 18-year-old freedom fighter Khudiram Bose and the legacy of forts like Shivneri, Chittorgarh, and Vijaydurga. In cultural discussions, Modi celebrated National Handloom Day and the resurgence of India’s textile industry. He praised grassroots efforts like that of Pramila Pradhan in Odisha, who uses folk songs to promote environmental awareness. Highlighting environmental and technological integration, he shared an example from Kaziranga National Park, where AI and sound sensors helped identify over 40 bird species without disturbing them. The PM concluded by acknowledging India’s strong showing at the World Police and Fire Games, where Indian forces won nearly 600 medals. He emphasized the Khelo India initiative to build India into a sporting superpower and saluted public-led efforts in the Swachh Bharat Mission from Bhopal to Arunachal Pradesh. PM Modi urged citizens to continue contributing actively to national progress and to share ideas through the NaMo App.
