Manmohan Singh Last Rites: To Be Conducted with State Honors Today

The last rites of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will take place on Saturday at 11:45 AM at Nigambodh Ghat with full state honors, as confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Singh, who passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92, will also receive military honors arranged by the Ministry of Defence. His mortal remains will be kept at the Congress office beforehand for public homage. The government has agreed to allocate a memorial site for Singh following a request from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who appealed to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. A trust will be formed to oversee the establishment of the memorial.
