Maharashtra Assembly: EVM Controversy Heats Up, Uddhav Faction MLAs Refuse to Take Oath
A three-day special session of the Maharashtra Assembly began today (December 7). The session has been organized for the swearing-in of newly elected MLAs and the election of the Speaker. However, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) MLAs have decided not to take their oaths today. This decision was announced by Shiv Sena-UBT MLA Aaditya Thackeray while addressing the media. During a press interaction on Saturday, Aaditya Thackeray said, "We have decided that our (Shiv Sena-UBT) winning MLAs will not take the oath today. If this victory truly reflected the people's mandate, there would have been celebrations and happiness among the public. However, no one has celebrated this win anywhere. We have doubts about the EVMs." NCP-SP leader Jitendra Awhad and Congress leader Nana Patole were also present during the press briefing.
