Lonavala News: Major Accident At Lonavla Waterfall Causing 5 People To Drown, Rescue Operation Underway
Woman and 4 Children Drowned in Waterfall:
A major accident occurred near Bhushi Dam in the Lonavala area of Pune, Maharashtra. Five people have drowned in a waterfall near the dam, including a woman and four children. The police and rescue team have recovered two bodies so far, and the search and rescue operation is ongoing.
Pune SP Pankaj Deshmukh provided information, stating that a relief and rescue operation is underway. He confirmed that all five people who drowned in the waterfall were residents of Syed Nagar, Pune, and belonged to the same family.
Accident Near Bhushi Dam in Lonavala:
It is reported that the family had gone to Lonavala to enjoy the monsoon holidays. Five family members were swept away by a waterfall behind Bhushi Dam, known as the Railway Waterfall. This water flows into Bhushi Dam. The Lonavala City Police team and Shiv Durga Rescue Team are continuing their search efforts. The bodies of a woman named Shahina Parveen (40) and a 13-year-old girl have been found, while three children are still missing.
The missing children are reported to be between 4-6 years old, according to a police officer. Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh said the incident occurred around 1:30 PM, after which search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
