Konaseema Chaos: Take a look at police's strict action | ABP News

Violence erupted in Amalapuram city of the state after the police lathi-charged the people protesting at the district headquarters on Tuesday against the proposal to rename the newly formed district Konaseema to BR Ambedkar Konaseema district. The house of Transport Minister Pinipe Viswarupu was set ablaze during the violence. However, the police took the minister and his family out safely.

Several policemen are said to have been injured as the protesters pelted stones after the lathi-charge. A police vehicle and an educational institution bus were also torched in the city.
