Indian Railways starts contactless ticket checking

Indian Railways is moving in the direction of contact ticketing for trains. For this, the QR code will be made available on the train tickets. Such tickets can be scanned through handheld devices and mobile phones in railway stations and trains.

Further, due to the QR code, TTEs in stations and trains will be able to capture the passenger details immediately by scanning the QR code of the train ticket from their handheld device or their mobile phone with the QR application.
