Examination Scam: Jharkhand Students’ Protest Continues Over CBI Probe Demand
Jharkhand’s government has claimed that it has accepted the students’ demands and urged them to call off their protest. However, the students remain firm and say the agitation will continue until the government orders a CBI investigation into alleged examination irregularities. They argue that since those accused of malpractice are spread across the country, only a CBI probe can ensure justice and uncover the full extent of the alleged wrongdoing. The students had initially raised three major demands. First, they sought the cancellation of the JPSC preliminary examination and the JSSC CGL examination, a demand the government has accepted. Second, they demanded a CBI investigation, which the government has not yet agreed to. Third, they sought a transparent examination system to prevent future irregularities. The government has accepted this demand and announced a committee headed by an IAS officer to work on examination reforms. Despite two demands being accepted, students insist that their movement will continue until the CBI investigation is ordered for all the examinations mentioned in their demand letter.
