Delhi CM Race: BJP May Pick Purvanchali Leader, Final Decision in Today’s Meeting
The suspense over Delhi’s next Chief Minister will finally end today as BJP holds its legislature party meeting to finalize the leader. With just a day left for the swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on February 20, speculations are rife about who will take the top post. Notably, the oath-taking time has been changed from 4:30 PM to 11:00 AM, though the date remains the same.Among the frontrunners for the CM position are Parvesh Verma, Rekha Gupta, Pawan Sharma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Jitendra Mahajan. There is also a strong possibility that BJP might implement the Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan formula by appointing two Deputy Chief Ministers. Given Delhi’s diverse demographics, a Purvanchali leader is also being considered for the post. The final decision will be made in today’s meeting, setting the stage for BJP’s governance in the capital.
