CM Yogi's Gyanvapi Vishwanath Statement Sparks Outrage, Watch Video | ABP News
On Saturday (September 14), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sparked controversy with his remarks during an event in Gorakhpur. He described the Gyanvapi mosque as unfortunate and claimed that it is a true form of Lord Vishwanath. This statement has intensified political debates in Uttar Pradesh. In response to CM Yogi's statement, Shah Nawaz Alam, President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Minority Department, criticized the remarks as highly unfortunate. He argued that since the matter is currently under judicial review, any comment on it should be avoided. Alam suggested that CM Yogi's statement might be an attempt to interfere with the court proceedings, calling it a contempt of court. Additionally, Dr. S.T. Hasan, former MP and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader, accused the Chief Minister of making such statements to create polarization ahead of the upcoming assembly by-elections. He recalled that similar statements were made during the Lok Sabha elections and the electorate had responded accordingly. Hasan believes that the BJP will face a similar response in the by-elections, and emphasized that the public is not interested in getting involved in Hindu-Muslim temple-mosque disputes.
