Chamoli Glacier Burst: 22 Workers Trapped as Rescue Efforts Continue; CM Dhami to Visit Tomorrow

A tragic incident occurred in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, where a glacier burst in the Mana region triggered a devastating landslide. Over 50 laborers were trapped under the snow, prompting an extensive rescue operation throughout the day. Authorities successfully rescued more than half of the workers, but 22 remain stranded. Reports confirm that 55 workers were at the site during the disaster, with two on leave at the time. By evening, another worker was safely rescued, bringing the total number of saved laborers to 33. Rescue teams will resume operations tomorrow morning to locate the remaining workers. In response to the disaster, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is set to visit Chamoli to assess the situation and oversee relief efforts. The rescue teams, working against harsh conditions, are employing advanced equipment to ensure the safe evacuation of all trapped individuals. Authorities remain on high alert as the situation unfolds, and efforts continue to prevent further casualties. The state administration has assured full support to the affected workers and their families.
