In an effort to conduct a thorough inquiry, the Center has turned over the investigation into purported irregularities in the NEET-UG exam 2024 to the Central Bureau of inquiry. "On May 5, 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) held the NEET (UG) Examination in the OMR (pen and paper) format. A government statement stated, "Some reported cases of alleged irregularities, cheating, impersonation, and malpractices have been reported." The statement went on to say that in order to guarantee openness in the way the examination process was conducted, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, decided to assign the case to the CBI for a thorough investigation after conducting a review. In order to stop unfair methods in public examinations and to address matters related to or incidental to them, the Central Government also passed the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The government is dedicated to upholding the integrity of exams and safeguarding students' interests," the statement stated.
