Breaking: Security Tightened Around Aurangzeb's Tomb in Maharashtra Amid Calls for 'Kar Sewa' and Demolition

In Maharashtra's Sambhaji Nagar, security around Aurangzeb's tomb has been heightened following a call by VHP and Bajrang Dal for a "Kar Sewa" at the site. Aurangzeb, known for his cruelty during his reign, has been buried in this tomb for 318 years. Despite the tomb's historical significance, local Hindu organizations have pushed for its removal, calling for the desecration of the grave as part of their broader agenda to challenge Aurangzeb's legacy. The situation has escalated with claims that the tomb could be demolished, similar to how Babur's structure was destroyed in 1992.  Aurangzeb's rule, marked by oppression towards Hindus, including forced conversions, destruction of temples, and persecution of figures like Guru Teg Bahadur, has left a bitter legacy. The growing calls for removing his tomb come amid political shifts in Maharashtra, where discussions have resurfaced about his controversial legacy. In response to these threats, police security has been increased around the tomb, with checkpoints and roadblocks set up to prevent any unrest. Two officers have been stationed permanently at the site, and two additional checkpoints have been established to monitor the situation closely. This issue has sparked significant debate over historical monuments and their place in modern India.
