Breaking News: Massive Anti-Terror Operation Underway in Kishtwar Forests, J&K | ABP NEWS
A major counter-terror operation is underway in Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir, as security forces intensify efforts to flush out terrorists believed to be hiding in the dense forests and mountainous terrain of the region. The encounter, which began more than 24 hours ago, involves a joint operation by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police. Acting on intelligence inputs, the forces launched a combing operation in the forested hills that connect Kishtwar with Anantnag through the Sinthan Top region—currently blanketed in snow. Two to three terrorists are suspected to be holed up in the area. The terrain, filled with thick forests, large rocks, and tall grass, makes the search operation extremely challenging and risky. This is the same region where a major encounter took place on April 22, resulting in the elimination of three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists. Security forces believe that two remaining militants from that group are still hiding in these forests. Since dawn, reinforcement teams and senior officers have been deployed to expand the search. One soldier was martyred and others injured during the initial exchange of fire. Security personnel remain vigilant, and officials assert that the terrorists won’t escape—it's only a matter of time.
