Breaking News: Deadly Collision Triggers Massive Gas Leak and Fire in Ratnagiri | ABP NEWS
A major accident has shaken Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district near the Bav River, where a severe collision between an LPG tanker and a mini bus triggered a massive gas leak and widespread fire. The leaked gas ignited rapidly, setting fire to nearby houses and a gaushala (cowshed), with flames even reaching a mango orchard and destroying stored produce. Two cars and several homes have been gutted in the blaze. In response, authorities have completely halted traffic on the Mumbai-Goa Highway as a safety measure, while emergency crews work to contain the leak. Rescue operations are ongoing, with fire brigade teams and disaster response units at the site. Despite their efforts, the gas leak remains uncontained. Twelve passengers from the mini bus were injured and have been hospitalized. Residents from the surrounding area have been evacuated to prevent further harm, and teams are attempting to save animals trapped in the burning gaushala. Experts have been brought in to help control the hazardous situation, which remains critical. Traffic snarls are expected to intensify due to the weekend crowd on the highway.
