A significant fire broke out in a building in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai, leading to a dramatic rescue operation by the fire brigade. Upon receiving the alert, the fire brigade swiftly arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control. During the operation, more than 90 individuals were safely evacuated from the building. However, 13 people sustained injuries and were subsequently admitted to a nearby hospital due to respiratory difficulties caused by the smoke. The incident occurred at the Ramabai Ambedkar Magsasvargiya Housing Society. The injured individuals have been identified as Harsh Anil Bhise, Sweety Sandeep Kadam, Janvi Milind Raigankar, Priyanka Kale, Jaseem Salim Saiyed, Jyoti Milind Raigankar, Firoza Iqbal Sheikh, Lakshmi Lakshman Kadam, Lakshman Rambhau Kadam, Mansi Srivastava, Akshara Sachin Date, Abid Shah, and Amir Iqbal Khan. This fire comes on the heels of another tragic event that occurred a day earlier at the Opal Apartment in the Mulund area, where a blaze on the 9th floor resulted in the death of an elderly woman. The fire brigade responded promptly to that incident as well, managing to control the flames. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) fire department reported that the fire in Mulund also happened in the afternoon. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about fire safety and the need for stringent measures to prevent such emergencies in high-density urban areas.
