Amid ongoing concerns about law and order in Bihar, a significant incident occurred in Nawada where a police team was attacked, resulting in two officers being injured. The team had responded to a complaint about sand smuggling when they were assaulted by members of the sand mafia. This attack comes shortly after a similar incident on June 13, when miscreants targeted a police team at Karanpur Balu Ghat in Govindpur police station area. During that incident, stones were thrown, and gunshots were reported, injuring five policemen, including the police station chief, Rajiv Kumar Patel. The case involves extortion at Balu Ghat, with the tender for Karanpur Balu Ghat reportedly awarded to Mini Max Company.
