Bihar Election: ihar Mahagathbandhan Finalizes Seat Sharing: RJD 135, Congress 60, Left 30 Seats

Bihar’s Mahagathbandhan has reportedly reached an agreement on seat-sharing ahead of the upcoming elections, although minor differences remain between the RJD and Congress on a few constituencies. According to sources, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will contest 135 seats, Congress 60, and the Left parties—CPI, CPIML, and CPM—will get 30 seats collectively. Additionally, Mukesh Sehani’s VIP is expected to contest 15 seats, Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha 2 seats, and IIP led by IP Gupta 1 seat. Certain constituencies, such as Bachwara, may witness a friendly contest between Congress and CPI. While the final announcement of all seats is pending, party symbols are already being allotted to candidates in confirmed constituencies. A press conference for the formal seat-sharing announcement is expected soon. Sources indicate that negotiations are ongoing for a few key constituencies like Kahlgaound, Lalganj, and Baniyapur. Despite the minor hurdles, the alliance aims to complete seat distribution before the nomination deadline. The move reflects a strategic attempt by the opposition to present a united front against the ruling bloc, ensuring clarity and coordination among allied parties.
