Bihar Election 2025: Seat-Sharing Tensions Rise in Both Alliances | ABP NEWS

As the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 approach, political temperature is rising over seat-sharing deals in both the Mahagathbandhan and the NDA. Two major developments emerged today. First, tensions have grown in the Grand Alliance after VIP party chief Mukesh Sahni demanded 51 seats and the Deputy CM post. Second, despite NDA not finalizing its seat distribution, Nitish Kumar announced the first JDU candidate — Santosh Nirala — from the Rajpur seat in Buxar. Within the Mahagathbandhan, a meeting at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence hinted at a formula where Congress may be offered 66 seats — a decision yet to be confirmed by Congress leadership. BJP leaders mocked the move, referencing Congress’s past poor performance. Sources suggest the opposition alliance may finalize seat distribution by September 15, while NDA could follow between September 15–20. The Grand Alliance now includes eight parties, including RJD, Congress, Left parties, VIP, and potentially RLJP and JMM. Meanwhile, NDA’s projected division is: JDU 102, BJP 101, LJP (Ram Vilas) 20, and 10 each for HAM and RLM. With smaller parties pushing for a bigger share, the real challenge lies in managing ambitions within alliances. Seat-sharing has become a political battleground before the actual election even begins.
