As 'Unlock' unfolds, are we staring at reverse migration? | Pankaj ka Punch
Amid lockdown, many migrant labourers rushed back home as they had no jobs and hence, no salary to pay for the expenses in a city. Many labourers lost their lives while walking or travelling back to their hometown. However, with the industries and factories now reopening with 'Unlock 1.0', there are no labourers to work in these factories. A bus was sent from Punjab to Bihar to fetch some of the migrants who went back home. Which begs the question, is the country staring at mass scale reverse migration?
