Arvind Kejriwal Files Application To HC To Grant Him Bail | ABP News
Today (Friday, 5 July) the High Court issued notice to the CBI on the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The next hearing will be on 17 July. On the same day, Kejriwal's plea in which he has challenged the CBI's arrest will also be heard. During the hearing today, Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that four co-accused in this case have already got bail. The CBI arrested Kejriwal in the case after the lower court granted him bail in the ED case. Meanwhile, CBI lawyer DP Singh said that Kejriwal's petition challenging the arrest is already pending in the Delhi High Court, hence there should be no hearing on the bail plea. The CBI lawyer said that usually a bail petition is filed in the lower court first, then in the High Court. On this, the court said that the CBI's argument that it directly approached the High Court without filing a bail petition in the lower court will be considered later.
