Air India Plane Crash: Forensic teams probing sabotage angle in Ahmedabad plane crash | ABP NEWS
In the aftermath of the devastating Air India crash in Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken direct charge of reviewing the situation. After visiting the Civil Hospital to meet the injured, PM Modi held a high-level meeting at Ahmedabad airport with top officials, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister C.R. Patil, civil aviation authorities, and forensic experts. Aviation expert Captain Girish Sharma explained the critical role of the forensic team in ruling out sabotage or foul play. Investigators are gathering chemical and mechanical evidence, while the recovery of both parts of the aircraft's black box remains incomplete. Only the cockpit voice recorder has been recovered so far; the flight data recorder is still missing. At the Civil Hospital, over 40 injured individuals are being treated — many of them were medical students or interns dining at the doctors’ hostel mess when the crash occurred. Several are in ICU, and some injuries are critical. Authorities have begun collecting over 200 DNA samples to identify the 265 deceased. So far, only four bodies have been handed over to families after successful identification without DNA. Efforts are being made to expedite the forensic analysis and shorten the estimated 72-hour DNA confirmation timeline.
