Ahmedabad Plane Crash Kills 265, Boeing and DGCA Join Multi-Agency Probe into Cause

The tragic Ahmedabad plane crash, which claimed 265 lives, has triggered a multi-agency investigation to determine its exact cause. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are leading the probe, joined by a technical team from Boeing, the manufacturer of the 787 Dreamliner involved. Boeing engineers have collected debris samples and are assisting with analysis while providing technical inputs on aircraft design and performance.Several key questions are under investigation: Was there a pre-existing fault in the aircraft? Could the accident have been averted with timely intervention? Was there a lapse in pre-flight checks or technical inspections? Meanwhile, forensic teams are working to identify the victims. So far, 32 DNA samples have been matched, and 14 bodies have been handed over to families. Over 72 hours after the crash, many families are still waiting for closure.Security agencies including NIA and Gujarat ATS have ruled out sabotage so far, focusing on operational and technical factors. Chief witness Sarwan, who survived the impact from a nearby building, shared how debris struck him during lunch, and he barely escaped through the balcony. Authorities have promised stricter checks and accountability moving forward.
