1984 Sikh Riots: SIT submits report to SC on 186 closed cases
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has sumitted a sealed report to SC on the 1984 Sikh riots with respect to 186 cases closed by the CBI. The report is about that how many cases can be reopened.
The Supreme Court will give its response over the matter withing two weeks. According to official records, about 2,800 Sikhs were killed across India in 1984, including 2,100 in Delhi, during the violence that broke out after Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her bodyguards.
