History of demand over Caste Census in India | ICH

The Mandal Commission report was implemented in the country in 1991, but castes were not counted in the 2001 census. But in the last two decades, the number of Other Backward Castes (OBC) has increased very rapidly, which has also changed the equations of the country's politics.  Till the year 1931, all castes were counted and the census report also contained the details of the number of all castes and their educational, economic condition.
