Farmers deploy guards to safeguard tomatoes in Pakistan
The farmers in Pakistan have deployed guards to safeguard their tomatoes. In the farms where tomatoes are grown guards with guns keep a watch day and night. In karachi the prices of tomatoes have reached upto Rs320 per kg while in Lahore price of tomatoes range between 250 and 300. The cases of tomato theft are also increasing in Pakistan. Tomato is considered as a luxury item in Pakistan because of the increasing prices. Pakistan is not getting the tomatoes from India as well as Iran.
